Are you looking for a simple solution to sell and deliver your digital products?

SendOwl may be just what you’re looking for! It’s easy to use and automates the process of selling and delivering digital products, which is a pain to do manually.

And best of all, Sendowl has an awesome 30-day free trial period, so you can try it to see if it works for your business.

That’s a win-win situation!

I personally use SendOwl, so I’m going to get real and tell you everything you need to know in this SendOwl review.

Let me tell ya, by the end of this review; you’ll know whether or not this platform is the right option for selling your own digital products.

What Is SendOwl?

SendOwl is the perfect tool to sell your digital products, services, and even product bundles online. You could use it for physical products, but it works best for delivering digital files.

I also haven’t seen many people using SendOwl to sell services, but you could.

George Palmer founded it in 2010 when he couldn’t find a simplified way to sell digital products.

SendOwl connects to your payment providers and automatically delivers digital products to your customers.

Whether you’re newer to blogging or an experienced blogger, there are several ways to make money. Creating your own courses and products is one of the best ways to make a full-time income blogging.

But finding a RELIABLE solution to deliver them to your customers can be a pain!

You could get more complex shopping carts like Thrivecart or use Shopify or Woocommerce, but if you just want something simple and affordable, SendOwl is perfect.

SendOwl automates a tedious process. Could you imagine manually sending digital files to your customers each time someone buys?

No way! Sendowl is an affordable solution that delivers your digital products to your buyers in an instant with their automated system.

It also connects to your email service provider, so you can automatically add them to your mailing list.

But we’ll go a little more in-depth about all the great features below.

Who is SendOwl For?

SendOwl is for creators making and selling digital courses and products. SendOwl works well with products such as:

  • eBooks
  • Audiobooks
  • Memberships
  • Event tickets
  • Photography
  • Software
  • PDF files

SendOwl can deliver just about any digital download you can think of.

It’s best for small business owners and bloggers who want a simple process for selling and delivering their digital products.

Pro Tip– If you plan on selling courses, I advise you to use a platform like Teachable. You can create longer sales pages with all the information customers usually need to make a purchase decision.

SendOwl Review

Let’s get into the nitty-gritty of the best SendOwl features, pros and cons, as well as other important things you need to know.

Best SendOwl Features

SendOwl truly has some of the best features that help you make money while you sleep. Who doesn’t want that?

Selling Products

SendOwl makes selling your products easy. You can add a shopping cart functionality, so your customers can browse and buy more products at their own pace.

The on-site checkout process is hassle-free and streamlined. It’s also modern and responsive, so it works on any device or browser.

And people all over the world use it because it supports several languages and currencies.

SendOwl offers more than one payment gateway for maximum flexibility. Payment processors include:

  • Apple Pay
  • Stripe
  • Giropay
  • PayPal
  • Bancontact
  • Shopify
  • BitPay
  • iDEAL

Many of these options allow you to sell unlimited products with no fees.

Other bloggers and I have noticed that their affiliates earn more affiliate sales with SendOwl because of the simplicity of the platform. And the flexible payment options increase the conversion rates.

Delivering Products

Delivery of your products is quick and secure. Security is huge for people buying products online so, SendOwl increases the trust factor.

You can sell whatever you want with SendOwl, from guides to video tutorials to courses and more.

I love that you can actually sell subscriptions with SendOwl, so you can set fees for customers to access memberships on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.

This option is nice because membership platforms can be pricey.

If you have a course that you want to drip content out, SendOwl does this too. Drip functionalities allow you to pre-sell courses or slowly release subscriptions and product bundles.

And you can create license keys and custom codes so customers to protect illegal use of your products.

Automate Your Marketing Workflows

The tools SendOwl offers help you increase your income and sell better.

Promo and Discount Codes

You can create promo and discount codes for your products to run sales. SendOwl allows you to create them for specific time frames or based on the amount paid for previous purchases.

Email Integrations

The ability to integrate your email service provider with your shopping cart is huge. It allows you to add people to your email list, so you can nurture them with personalized emails.

You can also send customer emails on product updates.

SendOwl integrates with:

  • ActiveCampaign
  • Mailchimp
  • MailerLite
  • Constant Contact
  •  GetResponse
  • Mad Mimi
  • AWeber
  • Drip
  • ConvertKit
  • Campaign Monitor
  • Sendy
  • InfusionSoft

SendOwl also offers email templates depending on the purchase.

One-Click Upsell

This feature is HUGE.

SendOwl allows you to set up one-click upsells that make it a no-brainer for people to add additional products at exclusive discounts to their cart.

The tool makes it easy for you to set up funnels to increase your income.

Affiliate Marketing Program

Affiliate marketing is one of the best ways for new bloggers to make money.

SendOwl makes it simple to turn customers into affiliates so they can promote your products.

SendOwl allows you to set your cookie preferences and makes managing your affiliate program simple. The cookie preferences let you decide the period of time they last.

For instance, if someone clicks on my affiliate link, I will make the sale depending on if the cookie is good for 30 days, 60 days, a year, and there are even lifetime cookies.

Cart Abandonment

If you don’t have a solution for abandoned carts, you’re leaving money on the table. With SendOwl, you don’t ever have to lose a sale because you can send emails to customers with abandoned carts.

Pay What You Want Pricing Option

Pay What You Want Pricing is becoming more popular.

This payment plan gives you another option for payments that works well with gathering donations for a cause.

Customization Options

SendOwl has different checkout templates, custom fields, and embedded button options so you can tailor everything to your brand.

Use CSS, JavaScript, and HTML to customize design, colors, and fonts.

There are three main checkout templates and several different custom checkout fields you can collect the information you need on your buyers, like VAT info or phone numbers.

You can easily disable or enable any checkout field if you don’t need it.

Sales Analytics

SendOwl generates an overview of sales, including the buyer details, transaction amounts, and order IDs.

You can also run discount code reports to see how many times a specific code is used, and you can generate reports on people who haven’t downloaded your products.

I also love that you can see your upsell statistics to gain information on products that are popular and which ones are not selling.

And the abandoned cart analytics help you identify problems in the last sales stage so you can identify where people are dropping off and fix the issue.

SendOwl also helps you manage legal and administrative requirements such as EU VAT rules, taxes, API access, and more.

Whew, that’s a lot of great features, right?

Let’s jump into some pros and cons I’ve found while using SendOwl to sell my digital products.

  • Supports coupon and discount codes
  • Modern responsive checkout options
  • Flexible payment options
  • Available in multiple languages and currencies
  • A streamlined and convenient checkout process
  • Scale your income easily
  • Sell a variety of products
  • Fast product delivery
  • Analytics to help you up your selling game
  • Two-factor authentication
  • You can limit the number of downloads to a product
  • Create time limit download links
  • Custom branding
  • Checkout and email templates
  • One-click upsells
  • Email marketing integrations
  • Helpful analytics
  • Low transaction fees
  • Makes getting affiliates for your products easy

  • No emergency support
  • Limited A/B testing for the different templates
  • Limited design customization
  • Limited support for cryptocurrency transactions
  • Doesn’t support bundling products with services
  • No way to set different commission rates for affiliates

Customer Support

SendOwl has a great help page that answers the questions to most of the things you could run into.

But there is no support community like some platforms offer, and there is no emergency support. SendOwl only has a support email you can use to submit a ticket.

SendOwl Alternatives

There are a few alternatives to SendOwl though I don’t think any are as simple to use and easy to set up.

  • Gumroad
  • Samcart
  • Thrivecart
  • E-Junkie
  • Sellfly
  • Selz
  • Payhip
  • DPD
  • Squarespace eCommerce
  • BigCommerce
  • Shopify

If you don’t have a big shop, you likely don’t need other eCommerce platforms like Shopify or Woocommerce.

Is SendOwl Easy to Use?

Yes, it is, and I’m technically challenged at times, so if I can use it, then anyone can!

SendOwl makes setting up your shopping cart painless with the ability to add upsells that can make getting more money a breeze.

You can easily set up a payment link on your blog and get links to share on social media or any other sales channel.

If you’re looking for a simple tool that lets you sell and deliver digital products with ease, it doesn’t get much easier than SendOwl.

Simply click my link to get a 30-day free trial to get started. AND you can get your trial without handing over your credit card information.

How to Use SendOwl

1. Connect Your Payment Options

Once you sign in, the first thing you will need to do is connect any payment gateway you need to. The main payment options are PayPal, Bitpay, and Stripe, but you can add the ones I mentioned above under these three main ones.

Now for the exciting part, it’s time to add your very first product!

2. Add a Product

Click the button that says, “Add a Product”. SendOwl will walk you through the process, but you’ll need to choose the type of product.

It will give you the choice of a product, service, subscription, or bundle. The bundle allows you to bundle multiple products, which is great for specific sales or deals like Black Friday.

If you choose products, it will then have you choose the specific type of product – digital file, software, physical, redirect, or drip products.

The vast majority of SendOwl users sell digital products, so I’ll use it as an example.

To add a digital product, you would choose digital file and then add the product name and price, and attach the files or add a link to them.

* Note – With physical products, you can add a sales cap if you only have a certain number in inventory. If you want to sell software, you can add a license key to protect it from unlicensed usage.

3. Customizing a Sales Page

To customize your sales page for a product, go to your products page in the dashboard. Click Edit on the product and then select Sales Page Details.

Now you can add a product image, summary points, and a product description. This page is likely the one you will share the most as it provides buyers with more details.

4. Checkout Options

SendOwl allows you to choose from three checkout templates and customize them. To customize them go to Settings and then Checkout Template.

Choose a template by selecting Use. And then, edit the template by clicking on Options and then Configure.

You’ll see the various options you can add and customize the button colors. You can also create a new checkout template by selecting Create New Template.

You can also duplicate any template by clicking on Options and then Duplicate.

To view a template, you’ve changed click Options and then Preview.

There are additional checkout options available under Checkout Options such as changing order numbering, adding your logo, or requiring certain buyer information for purchases.

5. Create Product Upsells

You can create product upsells by navigating to the Marketing page and the Upsells tab. Then click Add an Upsell.

All you need to do is add the name, when to offer it, the upsell type, and select the status. You can also customize the text and add the sales price.

6. Add the Checkout Link to Your Website

The nice thing about SendOwl is that you can choose where in the sales journey you insert your customer.

The different links available allow you to customize this so you can have a buy now link, add to cart link, view cart link, and product sales page link.

A product sales page is good for higher-priced items like a course where people want an in-depth product description.

With each of these links, SendOwl creates a code you can use on your website like a view or add to cart button.

You’ll also see sharing options too, like Twitter or Facebook. Sharing options makes it easy to sell your products early on in the process.

Final Thoughts on SendOwl Review

In my opinion, you really can’t beat the features you get for the price with SendOwl.

While it may not have all the features and integrations that eCommerce platforms like Thrivecart and Shopify do, it’s perfect for selling and delivering products instantly.

The ability to do that is key as you can make money in your sleep as people buy your digital products and SendOwl automatically delivers them.

With many great features and solid analytics, you can identify any problems and fix them so you can scale your income and make more money.

Plus, the ability to add a one-click upsell is worth using SendOwl alone as it can drastically increase how much money you make from selling products.

And the customer experience is critical to your success. If your purchase process is complicated or clunky, you can lose sales.

But SendOwl streamlines everything.

Now all you need to do is start creating products and courses!
