Confession: I do not take good care of my lips like I should. I don’t protect them from the sun, and I don’t usually exfoliate or moisturize them. Well, not until now.
As I made up a batch of my favorite vanilla body scrub today, I licked my chapped lips (a big no-no) and thought, why don’t I ever exfoliate my lips? They are so dry and they need a little extra attention!
So I adjusted my portions and added a little extra love to this deliciously scented, all natural exfoliating lip scrub! You are going to love it.
As I’ve said before, I never publish a DIY recipe that I have not crafted and tried out myself, and I can honestly say that this one is amazing! Your lips will feel so soft and moisturized.
You will need:
2 tablespoons of raw cane sugar
1 tablespoon of coconut oil
1-2 drops of almond or vanilla essential oil
Mix all ingredients with a small spatula and adjust the amount of sugar to create the texture you want. Use fingertips to collect a pea-size portion of the scrub and rub it on your lips in a circular motion for up to one minute. Rinse with cool water and pat dry.
I hope you love this recipe as much as I do. You can double or triple the portion sizes to make it last a little bit longer or to use it all over your body.
I will be adding more to my DIY series in the near future, so stay tuned! And join my mailing list to get more DIY beauty tips and tricks delivered to your inbox every week 😊
